YMCA Youth Sports programs promote healthy kids, families and communities. We place a priority on family involvement, healthy competition, the value of participation over winning and team building.
Youth flag football programs at the YMCA are recreational programs designed for youngsters new to the sport of football as well as those not quite ready for tackle football.
The Y flag football program is geared toward players who want to learn how to play the sport, brush up on the rules, tactics and skills, improve their game and most importantly - HAVE FUN!
In the Y's youth soccer programs, players are introduced to the fundamentals of the game at our clinics and leagues. They focus on good sportsmanship and are led by Y staff and volunteers in drills and games that teach the basic offensive and defensive skills and positions of soccer. Our youth soccer program is held in Lecanto, Spring Hill, New Port Richey, Clearwater, Palm Harbor and more!
Youth and Teen Fitness
Kids and adults are bound to serve up success when they participate in volleyball programs at the YMCA!

Sparring is non-contact. Our Taekwondo program at the North Pinellas, Hernando and Citrus Ys emphasizes safety and self-control.
Martial Arts and Karate
This program offers quality Martial Arts and Karate instruction for kids and adults. Karate classes are held in a controlled, safe environment and each participant's challenge can be tailored to all levels of fitness or experience. The goal of our Martial Arts classes at the Y is to use a particular discipline as a conduit for maintaining a healthy mind, body and spirit.
Dance and Ballet
At the Y, we have popular dance and ballet programs. The Y provides today's youth with a wide variety of options to develop their spirit, mind and body.
Do you have team spirit? YMCA Cheerleading offer girls the chance to get active and have some fun cheering on their favorite YMCA Youth Sports teams. Cheerleaders will build self-confidence and self-esteem while developing social skills and healthy relationships with other girls.
The YMCA is the official home of youth basketball programs. We strengthen the community like no other organization can. We have hoops because the Y invented the game played globally on the hardwood in 1891. While teaching at the International YMCA Training School, James Naismith created a game using simple peach baskets and a soccer ball.
Baseball leagues and programs at the Y are designed to teach young baseball players the fundamentals of the game. Participants will learn how to catch, throw, and bat in a fun team atmosphere. For example, the Hernando YMCA offers youth baseball in Brooksville, Spring Hill and all of Hernando County. In addition, the Clearwater Y offers youth baseball in Clearwater, Largo and Safety Harbor.
